As I Lay Dying [Metal/Trash/Hardcore]

As I Lay Dying est formé en 2001 à San Diego, Californie.
Peu de temps après leur formation, le groupe signe avec Pluto Records et sort leur premier album, Beneath the Encasing of Ashes, en juin 2001.
En 2002, le groupe enregistre de nouveaux morceaux pour un split CD avec American Tragedy, sorti aussi par Pluto Records.
Après l'importante tournée et une augmentation en popularité sur le marché, As I Lay Dying signe chez Metal Blade Records au début 2003.
En juillet 2003, le deuxième album, Frail Words Collapse, sort, suivie par une grande tournée avec Himsa, Shadows Fall, The Black Dahlia Murder, et d'autres groupes.
En juin 2005, le groupe sort le CD Shadows Are Security et vont faire la deuxième partie de Ozzfest 2005.
En 2006, ils ont accompagné le groupe Bullet For My Valentine lors de leur tournée européenne.
En 2007, ils sortent leur quatrième album, An Ocean Between Us, avec Josh Gilbert à la basse et aux voix.
